The Powerful Message Behind Invictus
Although I normally evaluate the poetry instead of just leaving it bare, this poem, Invictus, by Willian Ernest Henley, really caught my eye. I want to know what you guys think of it, and what your interpretation of the poem is this time. Enjoy!
__________________________________________________________________________
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
____________
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
____________
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
____________
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

I m the master of my soul- beautifully explained.
Going through a gloomy time myself right now and this really puts it out there: be proud, keep your head up even if you think you can't keep on. Just move.
